Denim Day Lunches

Don't forget! We will be selling pink ribbons to support Denim Day during every lunch shift from September 29th-October 3rd (Denim Day)

Everything you need will be in the Hut. Don't leave the money until the two people for the next lunch shift come to relieve you. If you need a pass to class, see Ms.Bol. If ribbons are still left, give one to each donator.

If you are unsure about what day you are scheduled in the Hurricane Hut, see Sami, Ms. Bol, or Mrs. Wilkosz

Welcome Back!

We hope everybody had a safe, satisfying summer.
There will be the first meeting of the '08-'09 school year Wednesday, September 3rd in the media center. This meeting is MANDATORY and all members are expected to attend. We will be discussing Denim Day and other possible projects. So come with ideas! Also, bring in your $25 due as soon as possible. See you on Wednesday!

Announcement of New Officers

The Officers for the 2008-2009 school year have been elected! They are as follows:

There's nothing on the agenda for the summer, but be ready for meetings and service projects upon arrival back at school in August!

1/10/08 Blood Drive Info

Blood Drive Info-

We need three people for every period 1-8th on January 25 to help out with snacks and running the blood drive. Many have already signed up. See Cameron for more info.

We need people to make posters advertising the event so the whole study body knows about this event. See Kavita to volunteer.

We have several people already signed up to work lunch shifts signing up students to give blood. A schedule will be posted near the Hurricane Hut on Friday. Don't forget the days you have signed up! See Andria for any questions or concerns. GOOD IDEA! ASK AN AMINISTRATOR IF YOU CAN ANNOUNCE ON THE MICROFONE AT LUNCH THAT YOU ARE SIGNING PEOPLE UP TO GIVE BLOOD!

Requirements to be able to give blood will posted near hurricane hut and should be on the posters and available to those students working lunch shifts.

Meeting 1/10/08

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Holiday Reading to children at Huntingtown Elementary went very well. Thank you to those who participated.

Blood Drive scheduled for January 25 in the small gym. Sign ups for making posters, signing Huntingtown students up to give blood (during lunches starting on next week), and running the event will be at the January 10th meeting.

NHS Induction ceremony has been moved to March. More details to come later.

Meeting 11/1/07

1. REMINDER TO CLOTHING DRIVE VOLUNTEERS! Reminder to those making signs and moving boxes for this event, it begins November 5- November 16. Check with Emily if there are any questions or concerns.

2. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Any strong, buff members (cough cough football players) interested in volunteering in moving large bags of Thanksgiving food for local families, sign up at the meeting.
Info: Sunday, November 11, beginning at 12:00 noon. At the Calvert Churches Community Food Pantry (located in the Kaine Building, near Julie Rogers Studio of Dance).

3. TUTORING! Sign up for tutoring, A LONG TERM SERVICE PROJECT!, in guidance or see one of your officers for information.

4. HOMEWORK HELP! Service project- sign up with Emily at the meeting or see her for information.

5. BLOOD DRIVE- January service project.

6. Any ideas for a December service project? Reading Holiday stories to elementary students?
